Over and over we watch In the Night Garden. The baby has even developed her own sign language to ask for it. She twirls her finger around the palm of her hand like they do in the begining of the show.

I was hanging out on the couch with the kids, giving the baby raspberries on her tummy, which she LOVES. I put her down and she started trying to give herself raspberries on her tummy! Hahaha!!!! I don't know how well it translates in these pictures, but it was awesome.

This daughter of ours has her own taste. She'll go along with what we offer her, but if the opportunity arises, she has very strong opinions about what she likes. We'll be walking along the clothing section at Superstore, and she'll be looking around, like 'la dee dah doo dee doo' and then BAM! She'll spot the little girls clothing section and suddenly she's flipping out! She's twisting in every direction, trying to leap out of her shopping cart seat, frantically pointing and saying "DAT! DAT! DAAAAT!" and reaching for her favourite things.
Meanwhile, I'm experiencing a wave of emotions that oscillate between horrified dread and trembly giggles. Who is this child? Clearly she has responded much differently to our gender neutral parenting style than our son did. Because all her favourite things? Are pink. Pink, pink, pink with a little extra pink added. The brighter the pink, the better.
And shoes! She loves shoes. These were the purchased item of the day, because I thought they were pretty darn cute, too. Plus they fit her feet perfectly and don't fall off because they velcro up the sides. And they were only $16.
The other item that had her almost breaking her back trying to reach? A shirt...with a picture of shoes on it. That said "I love shoes".

Digging through the storage room today, I found Mustard Man's old chair! Man, that little Ikea chair has been with us for a loooong time. He sure loved it! But it was pretty sad looking upon closer inspection, so I decided to do a quick polish.
Slapped on some paint (literally. There was slapping)
Cut up a black t-shirt that was already ripped and hand sewed it onto the old cover. This took forever since I was only pretending I had the time to do so, and had two very needy children tugging at me from every direction.
Then I put a sweet little flowery "Y" on it for Opalina Ballerina, who's real name starts with one.
Ta da! Not perfect, but definitely improved.

New Glasses day!
My new frames from Zenni arrived in the mail today. I really love them. They're not as shimmery as they looked in the picture, but I'm okay with that! I like how they sparkle just so.

Mustard Man's foot on the left, and my foot on the right .
I should say, for the record, that I do not have small feet. I'm a size 10 ladies.

Pacifiers were short lived in this Opalina's life. She lost interest around 4 months old. But cloths are a whole different story. Her favourite is to gnaw on a warm towel fresh out of the bath, but a facecloth is also a wonderful treat.

Today was Opalina Ballerina's very first day away from Mom and Dad. Her first day at The Nest!
The Nest is a language program for babies and toddlers to prepare them for full time Secwepemctsin immersion preschool. She's in "school" 3 full days a week now! My little baby is growing up! *sniffle*

We dig Love day around here.
This year we planned nothing, and bought nothing. It was lovely. All day I was beaming from my core with love for my family and friends. I felt deeply reflective of the love I have for my partner. I felt teary eyed at the thought of our amazing 12 years together. I really did luck out with Dove as my Love.
And when I was shopping for our dinner, I came across the most amazing Valentines mushroom ever.Boy, did it ever make me giggle!! For those that don't know me, I'm very fond of naughty looking vegetation.
So, this post has a bonus image:

We tried a new Gluten Free crust recipe I found on Pinterest that's made without any flour. I'm sure I could have tried one made out of cauliflower, or something healthy like that, but I went with the one made out of (my beloved) cheese.
I tried not to think of my arteries, and just dove in. It was very good! It's hard to tell, because this picture really isn't the greatest (but it's the only photo I took that day, so it's on the blog), but you can pick the crust right up and eat it. It's the closest thing in texture and flavour to a chewy wheat pizza crust.

On the eleventh, I dragged my crew to the Valentines Family dance happening a block from our house. It was F.U.N. I even won first place in a dance contest! I needed that.

When Mustard Man was 6 years old, I took that photo hanging on the wall of him with my Mom. Five years later, I saw them sitting there together under the photo and rushed to grab my camera.
LOVE.

Happy ELEVENTH Birthday, Mustard Man!
This post is a few days late, because I really wanted to sit down and write a heartfelt story about my beautiful boy and how much he shifted my world when he came earthside. I wanted to go into great detail about his spirit and the gifts he brings to this world.
But his big spirit is exhausting me to my very core right now, and so the post will have to wait! For now, I bring you my dancing boy. Cutting the rug to this song.

Me and my beautiful Mamma. I've always wanted to take a photo like this, so when she arrived in town tonight, I quickly set up for a photo while Mustard Man watched the Simpsons and we sat down for one. No hair, no makeup, just us.

Opalina Ballerina is having her favourite book read to her by her favourite neighbor! When J walks in the door, she has a special "Hi" that she saves, just for him. "HIIIIiiiiiiiiiii" and starts dancing with joy that he's here.
