Lining up all her favourite books to choose from is like a special kind of heaven for this baby. A girl after my own heart!

My backyard, first thing in the morning. Trying to take a photo of the eerie, still dark and almost light light was pretty impossible. The fog, lifting off the mountain is something I'll never get tired of seeing.
This is taken while standing in my dining room, and looking out the back door.
We're lucky to live here.

Turns out, testing my auto-focus settings were the ony photos taken this day. So, a photo of what's on my wall next to my computer is my photo of the day. :)

What's this? Sun? No snow? No sub-zero temperatures?

We emerge from our cave house and rub our eyes, squinting at the sun, raising our arms to sheild their strong rays. There is mumbling, and the shuffling of feet as we drag our four bodies...... outdoors.

This is the first time Opalina Ballerina has been at the playground since she learned how to walk! Sure, she's been walking for 5 months. But it's been a looooong five months of winter.

When Mustard Man was a baby, we had this exact toy for him. We bought it at Superstore in early 2002 for his first birthday. As he grew up and it was long gone, he would tell us memories he had of his precious, plush car. It was a fond memorie for us all.

Then, at a rummage sale one day, 10 years later, I see it!! Someone had the EXACT toy for sale at their table! They sold it to me for a toonie! I can't tell you how excited I was to see my second baby, a decade later, playing with this obscure toy! And she loves it!

This picture does not do the 8 ft tall pile of Burdocks justice. It just doesn't. (and my glove is on backwards, don't worry. I didn't disfigure my arm!)

I am a warrior! You think your yard is bad?? You aint seen nothin'!!

The original name of this cereal is "Holy Crap". And boy, are they right! I had the most glorious poops after I started eating this cereal. It was like, a gift to my colon. You're welcome, colon. I love you, too.
But yeesh, the price! I bought it quite a few times because I love the way it makes me feel, and it's tasty, but I realized pretty quickly that this is simply a blend of raw ingredients available in bulk.
So, naturally, I made it my own damn self!
YUM.
Why is it yummier? Because it's cheaper. Other than that, it's exactly the same damn stuff. Exactly.Only half the price. I made twice as much cereal (it may even be three times as much, actually, I haven't measured) for around $10.

I also may have gone a little crazy at The Bulk Barn and bought mango flavoured cranberries. I don't recommend going into that store without a chaperone, because reckless choices are made. I will be buying regular cranberries next time.

Is it as yummy as Kellogg's Frosted Flakes with extra sugar? No. But will Kellogg's Frosted Flakes make me refer to my bowel movements as a gift? NO.
It's the Chia seeds that make this cereal ooey gooey and stick together. It's a very different, slippery texture, but I quite like it.

Enjoy!!

Princess Oki. She's feeling pretty happy about the new chair. I had to kick her off of it allll day long.
My new chair! Words can not describe how happy this chair makes me. It's technically a dining room chair, but I'm using it for my computer chair, because it's SUPER comfortable, and I need something without wheels so I don't run over my baby's toes.

Purple velvet chair?? YES PLEASE.

It was 12 years ago today my Dove took my hand and walked me out the door of my Mother's house for our First Date.
We walked and walked, for hours, falling madly and deeply in love. There was no awkward conversation, or standard dating procedures. Our hearts were soaring, and our souls led the way that night. We both knew that this was officially the beginning of a life together, and it felt so right.

Dove asked me to be his wife that night, in the first hour of our evening together, and then asked again in the last hour of our evening. I thought he was being silly, and wished he was serious. Little did I know, that he was absolutely serious.

There was a kiss that left us both wishing there was more kissing going on.
There was a waterfall and japanese gardens. There were statues of angels, and the singing of every song we knew with the word "Angel" in it.

But most of all, there was the beginning of something really special. The beginning of a lifelong commitment to being each others Special Person.

It's been 12 years today, and we're still madly, deeply and passionately in love with each other. Both of us can't wait to grow old together and all the adventures that will bring.

Rock solid, we are. Rock solid.

New Beginings.

The smell of fresh paint, and the sound of the roller smooshing against the wall brings me to my happy place. I crave change. Complete upheaval. The paint coats the wall and makes it fresh and clean. It changes the way our home feels and makes us look around at our surroundings in a new way. It feels bigger. Brighter. Better.

Lots of big changes coming in our home. Well, big for me and my small budget. New designs and soft places to land.

I have fond memories of licking the spatula as a small child. Everything tastes good when it's on a spatula! But melted peanut butter and butterscotch chips tastes especially delicious! The perfect treat for her first spatula feast.

I made this short, incomplete video of me practicing one of my favourite songs, "A Case of You" by Joni Mitchell. I'm a clumsy guitar player and can't for the life of me get the guitar right, so I mess up and have to stop, but there it is. I took no photos on this day, so an unfinished video it is! Hahaha!

I ordered some beautiful cloth pads from c-pop commodities on Etsy. They are so lovely! The baby thinks they're lovely as well, and stashed them in her toy box. They blend right in! Tee hee!
